4 cups vegetable broth, chicken broth, or water (adjust according to rice package instructions)
¼ cup SW Seasoning Mix
1 teaspoon Deb’s Flavor Crystals
¼ cup finely chopped flat-leaf kale (or substitute spinach)
¼ cup finely diced carrots
¼ cup frozen or fresh peas
Optional: Swap or add vegetables as desired — this recipe is flexible and forgiving.
In a medium pot, bring the broth (or water), SW Seasoning Mix, Deb’s Flavor Crystals, kale, and rice to a boil.
Reduce heat to low. Add the remaining ingredients, cover, and simmer.
Cook 18–25 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. (Cooking time may vary depending on the rice — check package instructions.)
Stir once or twice during cooking.
Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
Serve warm alongside grilled chicken, pork, or your favorite protein.
Tip: This recipe works perfectly in a rice cooker.
